Questions about Notary Public stamp/seal?
I believe my Notary Seal has been stolen and documents have been being notarized and stamped with my forged signature. How can I prove it besides getting my hands on the paperwork? And if I am able to prove it, what steps do I take from there? Will the police do anything without proof that they know who has been fraudulently using my stamp and signature? Can I get in trouble if documents surface with my name and stamp on them that I had no idea existed? All of this is very hard to prove obviously, whether or not I actually signed or not. Who knows how many documents could be out there? Anyone know what the penalty would be if it were proven that someone has been fraudulently notarizing documents with my info? Thanx for your input.
If one of those document is used for fraudulent purposes you could be charged or lose your notary license. A handwriting expert could determine that it was not your signature but you would be wise to file a police report in advance so that they are aware of the possibility and and can watch for fake documents.}{
