Kauffman Stadium Tickets – Baseball Reigns In Kansas City

Residents and visitors of Kansas City have a favorite tune come the springtime, and it starts, “Take me out to the ball game…”   Everyone knows the place to be is Kauffman Stadium, the place the Kansas City Royals call home. In fact, the name of the Kauffman Stadium was formerly the Royal Stadium. It has a special place in the city’s landscape, and each year marks another chapter in the storied history of this venue.

The history of the Kauffman Stadium dates back to the early 1970s, when Royals Stadium opened in 1973. The stadium bucked the trend of the era, since it was created specifically for baseball. Other sports venues during that time were multi-sport stadiums that lacked real character. The stadium has a historic feel that puts it in the same category as other famed stadiums in the country, and it has hosted multiple World Series games over the years. Kauffman Stadium underwent a major $250 million renovation in 2007, which was completed in 2009. Kauffman Stadium tickets give fans a chance to experience baseball magic, and fans can find theirs at StubHub.com.

It doesn’t get an better (well, other than the World Series, of course) than opening day at Kauffman Stadium, and 2010′s Opening Day falls on April 5, when the Royals host the Detroit Tigers. The Royals had a tough time in the American League’s Central division last season, and they have a chance to redeem themselves while against fellow Central competitors the Tigers. The Tigers finished second in the division. Both teams will have to keep their momentum going, as they play on April 5, 7 and 8. The last time the Royals hosted the Tigers was back in September, when they tallied three wins against the Tigers.

As soon as the Detroit Tigers pull out of Kansas City, the Boston Red Sox roll into town. The Red Sox face off against the Royals on April 9, 10 and 11. The Red Sox clinched a wild card spot in 2009 after finishing second in the American League’s East division. They finished behind the eventual World Series Champions, the New York Yankees. The Royals hosted the Red Sox last September for a four-game series. That series saw the Royals on top for the first two games, and then the Red Sox came back to top the Royals 9-2 and 10-3 in the second two games.

Kansas City also offers amazing music entertainment this spring, which will be on display when Straight No Chaser comes to the Midland Theatre on April 7. Straight No Chaser started as Indiana University’s first a cappella group in 1996, started by Dan Ponce and friends. They added an indie-like pizzazz to the normal a cappella formula, and soon they had a loyal following in their home base of Bloomington, Indiana. The original members gave way to new members, but 10 years after founding, the original members came back for a reunion. When their performance was posted on YouTube, it started gaining momentum around the country. Now, they bring their voice-only entertainment to fans around the country.
