Reference Book
What’s the best reference book for herbal properties?
Usually when i want to know the medicinal properties of an herb, I look it up online. Well recently we had an outbreak of storms in the southeast US and the power was out for five and a half days. I began to wonder what would happen if I were in a place with no power, but needed to reference the medicinal properties of herbs.
So does anybody know a good handbook/reference book that lists an herb, it’s risks, it’s medicinal properties, whether or not it’s edible, etc… ?

I’m going to recommend “The Herb Book” by John Lust. It is well written, gives proper warnings where they are due, gives comprehensive treatment of 513 herbs and mentions about 600 in in its various sections, has EXCELLENT indexes and so on. It’s a great book and i use it a lot.
