Where to buy a sturdy sake container?
Ok, so my fiancee loves all things that are Asian. I support him on this, since it has never been a problem. But now, for his birthday, he wants a sake gourd, bottle, or container thing to walk around with.
For those of you who do not know what I’m talking about: Sake is a kind of Japanese wine…
I have no idea where to get one! Everything I have seen is tiny, comes with cups, and made of porcelain. I need something medium to large sized that can take a beating, and it must be able to hold liquid in it!
He mentioned before that he like Auron’s style of jug, from Final Fantasy 10 (video game), before.
Any ideas?
The closest thing I have to an Asian market is one of those little Korean stores that sells a lot of fish and treats.

Its my favorite online retailer of japanese items (and I need one since I no longer live in california).
Also I learned in college Japanese Culture classes that an even number of cups is unlucky in Japan, so sets with an even number of cups are made for the USA market. California has the strictest food safety requirements in the nation, and items will have to pass the strictest tests for safety (no lead in glaze, no toxic glazes colors, etc…)
Also try www.worldmarket.com They occasionally have Japanese style items in their inventory (search for asian). It has a really good search engine.
