what does having an extremely rare surname suggest?
I mean with both my moms and my dads sides, both have extremely rare surnames that seriously cannot find anywhere!! like i have looked them up and can’t fine their origins, what does this mean???

To add to the confusion of surnames being spelled differently over time, an ancestor making up a new surname at the time of immigration, etc., is the possibility that your ancestors just didn’t produce many male children to reach adulthood (or the age where they could mate and reproduce.) In Western European naming traditions, children took on/were given the surname of their father (sometimes even if the parents were not legally married.) If the male children did not have male children of their own, then the chance of there being many males to carry on the surname was “zilch” (nothing.)
Example, my surname (my father’s surname) is not all that common, altho’ I suspect the spelling of it was changed over time because the bearers of the name got tired of others mispronouncing it. Also, I suspect it was not spelled correctly in a lot of official records, like census records. Also, even tho’ my father had at least 5 (at least 3 of them girls), other children from earlier marriages ( 
ah, me), at least 3 of them died in childhood. I know at least of one of those children was a boy. On top of that, my brother’s only son died in his early 20s without having any children. At least in our family, that surname will not continue to exist into the future.
Plus, I have found other family trees with the same spelling of surname as mine. Those fathers seemed to have a lot of daughters and few (if any) sons, too. Therefore, in those family lines, the surname did not continue into the future.
