What types of plants can ‘reside’ in a tiny cup or bowl?
I’m certainly not a gardener, but I’d like to liven up my bedroom by keeping little cups of plants on my dresser/night tables or windowsill. I don’t have room for a normal sized plant…Are there any plants that can be kept in a cup with a hole on the bottom for drainage? Any type of plant will do…herbs or grasses or whatever.
And by ‘tiny’ I mean the size of a regular drinking glass.
Baby’s tears are always fun, and they look cute growing out of a teacup! You can also do a pothos plant, English ivy, moon cactus or a small succulent like the string of beads plant, Crassula ‘Morgan’s Beauty’ or the jelly bean plant. Just go to your local garden center and pick up one of those tiny little cactus-looking plants, and they should be fine as long as your window gets a lot of good indirect light (if your window faces south, you’ll be fine). I’d go with succulents or cacti because then you won’t have to worry about watering them as often. Smaller pots tend to dry out quicker, and you’ll have to water them more often if they’re not a low-water plant.
