would rolling up an older water color painting damage it?

I’d like to ship a 30 yr old large water color painting in a tube- is it safe to roll a painting such as this? Any answers/suggestions appreciated.

well.. it mainly depends on the quality of the paper/painting. If you think it wouldn’t be damaged then go ahead, but if you are slightly worried then you should place it somewhere safe, to prevent any damage.
