Baby name Roxana: Will you please answer the following questions?
Name: Roxana
Gender: Female
Usage: English, Spanish, Romanian, Ancient Greek (Latinized)
Pronounced: rahk-SAN-ə (English), rok-SAHN-ah (Spanish)
“Latin form of Ρωξανη (Roxane), the Greek form of the Persian or Bactrian name روشنک (Roshanak) which meant “bright” or “dawn”. This was the name of Alexander the Great’s first wife, a daughter of the Bactrian nobleman Oxyartes. In the modern era it came into use during the 17th century. In the English-speaking world it was popularized by Daniel Defoe, who used it in his novel ‘Roxana’ (1724)”
Please answer these questions!
1) Do you like the name Roxana?
2) What are your thoughts on the name Roxana?
3) There are two pronunciations. Which one would you use?
4) What middle name would you pair with Roxana? What first name would you pair with Roxana?
5) Any other thoughts on the name Roxana?
Thank you! I am not pregnant by the way.
1) I do. It sounds ethnically beautiful.
2) Other than what I’ve said before, it reminds me of a rose or a latin dancers name.
3) I would use the rok-SAHN-ah pronounciation, because it already sounds very cultural and the English version seems less intriguing.
4) I like Roxana Jewel. Something shorter than Roxana. Anything would go. Roxana Grace, Roxana Jade, Roxana Jude. I like Jewel.
5) No, all mentioned above.
Thankyou.
